Climate change reveals, if needed, how our economies are supported by natural resources and services but also that uncertainty is a key component of our environment which makes our economies at risk. Understanding the dynamics linking our activities and our environment will improve the efficiency of policies designed to mitigate and to adapt to climate change.

Short CV
- Sébastien Foudi received his MSc in Economics of the environment, natural resources, energy and agriculture in 2002, his M.Phill in Economics in 2003 and his PhD in Economics (Economic analysis of agricultural ecosystems services. Application to soil biota generation) in 2008 from the Toulouse School of Economics (France) where he joined the research center LERNA.
- He was a postdoctoral researcher at the Water department of Cemagref in Montpellier, France (UMR G-EAU) from 2008 to 2010 and a teaching assistant at the University of Toulouse (2005-2007) for graduate and undergraduate students (econometrics and microeconomics).
- His research fields concern agricultural and natural resources economics. He is specializing in the exploitation and the management of soil and water resources.
- His work focuses on the understanding of the exploitation of soil ecosystems services by farmers and on the insurance instruments adopted by farmers to face drought risks (insurance and/or self-insurance strategies).
- He is also an applied econometrician who works on panel data, estimation of production and risk preferences and discrete models.
