CURRICULUM VITAE

  • Before Dirk joined BC3 in May 2010, he was Senior Research Fellow at the Center for International Climate and Environmental Research – Oslo (CICERO) in Norway (2008-10) and Juniorprofessor of European Economics at Chemnitz University of Technology in Germany (2002-08). 
  • He is a Fellow Member in the CESifo Research Network, Munich.
  • Dirk did research and taught at internationally renowned universities and research centres. These are, inter alia, Australian National University in Canberra, Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) Mannheim, CESifo Munich, Hebrew University Jerusalem, Jadavpur University in Kolkata, Makerere University in Kampala, Max Planck Institute for Tax Law and Public Finance in Munich, University of Havana and University of Nottingham.
  • He was awarded membership in the Environmental and Resource Economics Group of the Verein für Socialpolitik (German Economists Association) in 2009. 
  • He became member of the editorial board of the journal 'Zeitschrift für Umweltpolitik und Umweltrecht' in 2014.
  • Dirk received the University Prize of the Chemnitz University of Technology for the best dissertation at the Economics Department in 2002.
  • He has published in internationally renowned journals such as Climatic Change, Ecological Economics, Economica, Economics Letters, Environmental and Resource Economics, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Public Economic Theory, Resource and Energy Economics, Review of World Economics and World Economy.
  • Since March 2014, Dirk is Professor of Economics at Freiberg University of Mining and Technology in Germany.
