Short CV

Elena holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and a Master's degree in Sustainable Growth and Development from the University of Castilla-La Mancha. During her Master Thesis, she has collaborated with the Energy System Analysis Unit of CIEMAT (Energy, Environmental and Technological Research Centre) working on a National Research Project focused on the elaboration of a cost-benefit analysis of the implementation of renewable energies.

Between 2016 and 2017 Elena has worked in Fundación Biodiversidad of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (MITECO). During this stage, she developed a strong interest in the creation of synergies to face climate change through the management of public funds and the development of multi-stakeholder projects.

Since May 2017, Elena is employed as junior researcher at the Basque Centre for Climate Change. She has worked on H2020 CONSEED project: Consumer Energy Efficiency Decision making, H2020 ENABLE.EU project: Enabling the Energy Union through understanding the drivers of individual and collective energy choices in Europe and ENERPOLIS project funded by Fundación La Caixa. She is currently enrolled as PhD student at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) in the PhD program in Economics: tools for economic analysis. Her research field concerns for energy efficiency, behavioural economics and energy policies.
