Short CV

My research focuses on the study of plant-animal mutualistic interactions in fragmented landscapes under an ecological, genetic and statistical approach. I obtained the bachelor's degree in Biology (2009) and the master's degree in Evolutionary Biology (2012) at the University of Seville, Spain. As a Master student I started a new line of research within my group (Ecology, evolution and conservation of Mediterranean Plants), along with my supervisors: Phylogenetic Relationships of Helianthemum (Cistaceae) by using a Bayesian approach. From this stage I have already published 3 articles that have been cited 33 times (Molecular Ecology Resources, Botanica Complutensis and Taxon). After, I obtained an FPI scholarship to carry out my PhD (“Study of dispersal of Pistacia lentiscus in fragmented forests”; Cum Laude qualification with International mention), and during this phase I have already published 2 peer-review papers (Tree genetics and Plant Ecology) and another article in second revision in Perspectives in Plant Ecology, Evolution and Systematics and two other articles just in preparation. Besides, through my PhD, I did 4 research stays of 14 months in total in centers of international recognition (10 of those months abroad) in INIA-CIFOR (Madrid) with Dr. Robledo-Arnuncio (four months), in CONICET-IMBIV (Córdoba, Argentina) with Dr Aguilar (three months) and in CIBIO-Universidade Porto (Oporto, Portugal) with Dra Garcia (seven months). In addition, during my PhD phase, I have been working on another research line focused on epigenetics of plants under natural conditions. Related to this, I have just published two other peer-review articles (Tree, genetics & genomes, Ecosistemas) and other articles just in preparation. I have 11 contributions to congresses (6 of them international) and I have had 4 oral presentations. I am currently working on my postdoctoral in Córdoba (Argentina) with a competitive grant in CONICET under the supervision of Dr. Ramiro Aguilar (IMBIV-CONICET, Universidad Nacional de Cordoba), from April 1, 2018 to March 31, 2020. We have requested a research project in collaboration with CONICET on reproductive biology of the Chaco Serrano and we have an article in preparation. During the predoctoral stage I taught for three years in Univ Seville (Biology and Botánica farmaceútica; 184 hours) and the evaluations on my teaching performance reflect very satisfactory results, with an average score higher than the average of my area, degree and University (Universidad de Sevilla). The experience gained from the PhD and all these research stays (80 months, 34 months abroad) have made me a dynamic, independent, versatile researcher with the skills to work as a team.
