Short CV

Ignacio Cazcarro has BA, MA and PhD ("Summa cum laude", Quality and European Doctorate and Doctorate Extraordinary Prize 2011/2012) in Economics from the University of Zaragoza (Spain), where he has been a member of the research group “Growth, Demand and Natural Resources” and involved in several projects funded by the Ministry of Education and Science and the Government of Aragon. He worked for more than 2 years as post-doctoral research fellow at the Department of Economics at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy (New York, USA) participating in a National Science Foundation (USA) grant project on Dynamics of Coupled Natural and Human Systems. He also worked as post-doc at BC3 for more than 3 years, and then a similar period up to the present as associate BC3 researcher.

His research focuses mainly on national and environmental accounts and resources (especially on water and energy), the agri-food economy, and makes extensive use of environmentally extended models, input-output models and world trade models. He has contributed to several book chapters and articles in international journals such as Nature Communications, Environmental Science and Technology, Science of the Total Environment, Journal of Industrial Ecology, Economic Systems Research, Ecological Economics, Tourism Management, Journal of Cleaner Production, Energy Policy, Applied Economics or Scientific Reports.
