Vision

To steer climate change science towards the co-production of new knowledge and the co-design of policy solutions together with other stakeholders through a solid and transdisciplinary approach, with the ultimate goal to achieve sustainable development.

Mission

BC3 mission is to strategically foster co-production of knowledge relevant to decision making by integrating environmental, socioeconomic, and ethical dimensions of climate change.

Overall Objectives

Highlights

The Low Carbon Programme (joint research initiative between the Basque Center for Climate Change (BC3) and the University of the Basque Country (UPV / EHU)) offers, within the framework of a collaboration agreement with the BBK Foundation, two grants of 1,500 euros each for the realization of master’s theses on “Green Growth in Bizkaia”.
More than 190 experts met in Bilbao on June 7-14 to begin work on a new Methodology Report to update the guidelines countries use for estimating greenhouse gas emissions and removals, bringing them into line with the new requirements of the 2015 Paris Agreement.
