BC3. Basque centre for climate change – Klima aldaketa ikergai

Basque Society is aware that one of the main challenges of the next decades is to find the Sustainable Development path, ensuring that economic prosperity is linked to social progress and environmental protection.

With the objective of obeying these principles, in 2002 the Basque Government introduced the Basque Environmental Strategy of Sustainable Development, a plan establishing the bases of a new model of socio-economic progress until the year 2020.

In the context of the Basque Science, Technology and Innovation plan, one of the main objectives of the Basque Environmental Strategy of Sustainable Development is to promote research that contributes most to sustainability.

Thus, the BC3 Basque Centre for Climate Change – Klima Aldaketa Ikergai, constitutes a key instrument of both the Basque Environmental Strategy of Sustainable Development and the Basque Science, Technology and Innovation Plan.
