Short CV

I am a young professional passionate about understanding the effects of climate change on different ecosystems. I studied Biology at the University of the Basque Country and as final degree project I carried out a study on the structure and trend of a migratory bird population from Txingudi marshes (Spain). From this project not only, I obtained data analysis skills but also, I learnt how to determine bird species, sex, age, moult, etc. Finally, this project was the basis of an extensive study conducted in collaboration of Aranzadi Society of Science.

Once my degree was over, I decided to move to Glasgow (Scotland) in order to train my research skills by studying a Master of Research: Ecology and Environmental Biology. There, I got fascinated about marine pollution and climate change effects. So, I studied the impacts of diet on the accumulation of microplastics on bivalve. As final master project I carried out a Systemic Review which is now published: Effects of microplastics on bivalves: are experimental settings reflecting conditions in the field?

Currently I am working at BC3 as research assistant in a project named KONTRAE, which aims to assess connections between human, animal, environmental health and livestock, socioeconomic systems etc. in relation to antibiotic resistance.
