Short CV

Logolié Yamat is a Climate Change Economist, Sustainability Scientist, and Doctoral Researcher at the University of the Basque Country (Spain). His PhD focuses on sustainability patterns in East African land-use systems, particularly exploring how biodiversity conservation and local community livelihoods coexist across shared landscapes in Kenya and Tanzania.

He has led research and development initiatives with governments, NGOs, private sector actors, and Indigenous communities, and has worked with institutions including TNC, ILRI, World Vision International, and Trust Africa. Logolié has authored 20+ scientific and policy publications and is fluent in English, Swahili, and Maa, with working knowledge of Spanish and French.

His work focuses on building sustainable and just socio-ecological systems that support biodiversity, livelihoods, and climate resilience. Driven by a commitment to sustainability, justice, and evidence-informed decision-making, Logolié’s mission is to advance understanding of human–nature interactions and contribute scientific insights that support biodiversity conservation, food security, and inclusive economic development. His core expertise and interests are: -

-- Biodiversity conservation, ecosystem services, and socio-ecological systems.
