Climate change is an enormous threat to humanity and tackling this global problem requires a multidisciplinary approach. As a researcher, my goal is to conduct studies that provide valuable information to society on the best possible solutions to mitigate climate change.

Manuel Tomás is a Junior Researcher at the Basque Centre for Climate Change and a PhD Candidate in Economics (Tools of Economic Analysis) at the University of the Basque Country. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics (2018) and a Master’s Degree in Sustainable Growth and Development (2019). He worked as an Associate Lecturer at the University of Castilla-La Mancha (2019), and was a Visiting Assistant in Research at Yale University (2023). His research focuses on modelling consumer behaviour using different economic models (microsimulation, input-output, and CGE models) to evaluate the distributional, macroeconomic and environmental impacts of energy and climate policies. In the last few years, he has been involved in various research projects, including the LOCOMOTION H2020 project funded by the European Commission.
