Short CV
Sean began his bachelor's studies in Law (LLB) and the Humanities (BA), focusing on the topic of environmental issues from a variety of backgrounds, from international and domestic law, to business, and politic science. Wanting to further specialise in the environmental domain, he further pursued a master's in Environment and Resource Management (MSc) specialising in ecosystem services and biodiversity conservation. It was there that the focus of his work shifted to the policy dynamics of the governance of socio-ecological systems, specifically in the context of ecosystem services/Nature's Contribution to People frameworks.
In 2020 he joined the BC3 Basque Centre for Climate Change through a La Caixa INPhINIT fellowship grant for doctoral research. Here, his work will triangulate three areas: climate change adaptation, ecosystem services, and cities. With his interdisciplinary background, he will focus on the various policy, social, and biophysical dynamics of climate change adaptation in cities through nature based solutions, both with a domestic focus in the Basque Country (particularly Vitoria-Gasteiz) as well as on a global level.
